OverviewI trained at the Mid Warwick School of Art in the 60’s and then worked as a Prop Maker for the Royal Shakespeare Theatre Company, Stratford on Avon for six years. Marriage and family came next, and then in 1990 I was able to do an evening class in ceramics, I was soon hooked. I started painting with under glazes onto fine white stoneware fired in an electric kiln. Whilst living in St.Albans I made bowls and jugs, which I sold in the Cathedral craft shop, inspired by the embroidered wild flowers on the awning over St.Alban’s shrine. I am now experimenting with wax resist and lustres. We moved to Birdham in 2003 and during the move I was unable to make pots, so I began painting in watercolours. This has proved to be both enjoyable and successful. It is a pleasure to try and capture the atmosphere of the local scenery particularly the Sea and Sky. I now find I am painting and potting, the one medium influencing the other.
