Open Studios
In 2000 I set up a studio workshop producing ceramics, initially small scale individualised repeatable pieces, soon changing focus to producing one off coiled larger pieces of work. I have participated in Dorset Art Weeks 2002, 2004 and 2006 opening the studio to the public. In 2006 I was awarded a grant from the Arts Council to support continuing personal development and to run workshops alongside this event.
Workshop Activities Since 2000 I have been involved in leading clay and art workshops with children, both mainstream and special needs. I am currently involved working in a number of schools across Dorset on a project entitled " The History of Pottery in Poole". Selected workshops as follows : St.Warburgas School, Bournemouth, Dorset Baden Powell and St.Peters School, Poole, Dorset Haymoor Middle School, Poole, Dorset Witchampton School, Wimborne, Dorset Saturday All Stars – The Study Gallery, Poole, Dorset Childrens Society Open event, Bournemouth Splat – Art workshops, Northbourne Family Centre, Bournemouth Art week - Mudeford Junior School Boscombe Community Fayre, Bournemouth Langside School for Disabled Children, Parkstone, Poole Burton Primary School, Christchurch, Dorset I have also given demonstrations/talks to local Arts groups
Other activities In addition to my ceramic activities I practise and teach Yoga. As well as inspiring my work it also gives me discipline, a reflective space, and is a great antidote to modern living .
