Overview

A self taught ceramic artist and sculptor, my sculptures are handbuilt working most commonly in black clay, built solid, carved and sculpted. Then cut into sections to be hollowed, reassembled and then kiln fired. I like to use the addition of other materials and processes to complete the overall design.

Animal form is the main inspiration for my work, in combination with nature's essence. I am currently exploring animals such as deer. I love the beauty of nature and wildlife and it's connection visualized in dream worlds and fairytales. I revel in the nostalgia of childhood memories and imagery and how animals are so often portrayed in fables and mythology. The little hidden corner of that secret garden, reality, illusion, dream.
