OverviewI have studied painting and theatre design at Birmingham College of Art and Craft: worked freelance as a book illustrator; taught various disciplines of art to all ages and abilities; studied printmaking at Brighton university and Northbrook college.. I always carry a sketchbook to scribble down whatever has grabbed my attention and then try to recapture the impact it had on me when I get back in the studio, using whatever medium I feel will enhance that fleeting moment. Recently, I have been experimenting with ceramics, taking my enjoyment of linear qualities into a 3D format. Friends, Eric James Mellon and Sylvia Quinnell have generously given me technical advice and I continue to discover the qualities of clay, usually craft crank as it is more forgiving and battle with a recalcitrant kiln.
