Statement

Maurice learned to throw in 1974 under the guidance of Tony Benham, in Kent. He moved to Essex where he met Peter Lane who introduced him to porcelain.

On an education course at the University of East Anglia, Peter helped Maurice develop his understanding of throwing and glazing porcelain.  This course changed the direction of Maurice’s work, hence the more artistic crackle and crystal glazes of his present work.

His work has appeared in Ceramic Review and he sells in galleries across the south of England. He is an active member of The Sussex Guild, The Southern Ceramics Group and a selected member of Anglian Potters.
